Screening of Resilience
Tuesday, September 18 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Resilience is a new documentary that delves into the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and a new movement to treat and prevent toxic stress.
All are welcome to join The Chester County ACEs Coalition for a FREE screening this movie. Film is 60 minutes long followed by a small panel discusson around how our community can address ACEs and toxic stress.
Toxic stress can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, putting them at a greater risk for disease, homelessness, prison time, and early death. While the broader impacts of poverty worsen the risk, no segment of society is immune. Resilience, also chronicles the dawn of a movement that is determined to fight back. Trailblazers in pediatrics, education, and social welfare are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies to protect children from the insidious effects of toxic stress—and the dark legacy of a childhood that no child would choose.
Chester County ACEs Coalition is screening this movie in partnership with Factory Ministries, Parkesburg Point, and The Garage Youth Center.
