June 2018 Third Thursday on State Street

Come celebrate the start of summer on Thursday, June 21st from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. State Street will be closed from Broad to Center Streets so visitors can enjoy outdoor dining, extended shopping hours, live music, strolling entertainers and children’s activities, including the always popular balloon animal creating Miss Denise of Happy Heart Clown. The Kennett Symphony will be making a special appearance with “an instrument zoo” – a few instruments for kids to try out. The Kennett YMCA, LCH, the Garage Youth Center and the Kennet Library will also be setting up activities during this family friendly evening event, find out more about their various summer programs and celebrate the theme with a musical activity as well as a La Loteria game from 7 to 7:30pm. Nomadic Pies will be hosting a pie eating contest, sign up to participate in the store. The Tiny Tin Photo Booth will also be on hand for a fun and engaging photo booth experience. Parking is free in all areas of the Parking Garage after 5 p.m. Come in early and do a little shopping before diner.
Bike Kennett will be set up on N. Union to teach childrens’ bike skills and safety. Bring your bikes and helmets for some safety checks and fun on their obstacle course for kids!
