Dr Cheryl Renee Gooch will be on hand to talk about and sign copies of her book, "Hinsonville's Heroes". The free black community of Hinsonville sent its sons to serve the Union when called on. Some of these soldiers survived the bloody battle at Fort Wagner, South Carolina, as memorialized in the film "Glory".
