Pollination Celebration Series – Butterflies

In partnership with the Kennett Library, the monthly Farmers Market celebration of pollinators has covered bees, birds, beetles and finally – butterflies! To read more about Friday’s vendor line up click this link.

At 4pm plan to attend a special talk with local monarch butterfly enthusiast, researcher and expert Gary Liska, on monarch migration, gardens, and more.  In addition to the talk on the butterfly habitat and conservation, representatives from Casa Guanajuato will talk about the cultural significance of the monarch butterfly to Mexico and Mexican immigrants.  The theme of this year’s Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration is la mariposa monarca (the monarch butterfly).

Anyone attending the talks will be offered a raffle chance to win a butterfly themed gift basket from KSQ Farmers Market sponsor Harvest Market Natural Foods:
