2018 Fermentation Festival

Celebrate the ancient art of food preservation at Historic Kennett‘s 2018 Fermentation Festival, presented by the Kennett Square Farmers Marketon Friday, October 12th / 3–7pm. Enjoy ongoing educational opportunities with demonstrations by makers, “live” culture displays, plus tastings of fermented foods & beverages—including locally-produced yogurt, artisan cheeses, local vinegars, naturally-leavened breads, kombucha, miso soup, chocolate and more.
Maker demos will include sourdough process with Brandywine Valley Bread, kraut-making with Cucina Verde, plus a vinegar presentation with Keepwell Vinegar! Stay tuned here and historickennettsquare.com for the demo schedule & full lineup of vendors.
Culture & Recipe Swap: Do you ferment at home & have vigorous starter cultures you could share with others in the community? Bring them to the Market Info table, labeled in clean jars or ziplocks. HOW-TO & RECIPES are also part of the swap, with or without the starters.
