      Sections of the Borough, including most of the downtown area, are located in the Historic District, which allows the owner of an income-producing property to apply for a federal tax credit under the Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit program administered by the US Department of the Interior. Design Challenge Grants covers six basic projects and activities. The categories and maximum amounts to be reimbursed upon completion of an approved project (up to 50 percent of the total cost) are:
