Kennett Square Farmers Market

WHAT’S FRESH AND NEW AT MARKET THIS WEEK? August 18th

Market this week will be the BEES-knees! We would not have the abundance of summer produce above without the work of honey bees. Join us in celebrating these powerful pollinators for National Honey Bee Day! Special events for the day, 3-7pm:

* Honey Tasting: Stop by the Market Info table to taste the difference between raw local spring & summer honey from Brandywine Bee Company. We will also have some non-local varietals for flavor & color comparison.

* Candle Making (for the kids!): All ages will enjoy rolling a beeswax candle to take home. (No heat involved!)

* Observation Hive: Swing by Brandywine Bee’s tent to watch live honey bees hard at work! (Can you “spot” the Queen?)

Come enjoy the bounty of summer while supporting local farms, local artisans AND the local economy! Rain or shine, we’ll be there with your weekly supply of local goodness.

Guest & New Vendors This Week

Brandywine Botanicals offers unique hand-crafted, natural fragrances for men and women. Owner Robin Kielkowski creates each fragrance in her Delaware studio using ethically sourced and organic essential oils, absolutes and hand-made tinctures. Dedicated to natural ingredients. She does not use any chemical preservatives typically found in most commercial fragrance. And the lovely color of each perfume comes from the plants, not synthetic dyes! Come say hello to Robin & find a new favorite natural fragrance!

Community Guests This Week

We are excited to partner with Kennett Area Community Services to help fill the shelves of the Food Cupboard for our neighbors who are in need. Their inventory of non-perishable/canned foods is at it’s lowest during the summer months—please see the list for items needed (not expired). Fresh fruit is also very welcome at this time! Volunteers will be accepting donations at Market this week from 5–7pm.

Kennett Area Democrats will be present for nonpartisan voter registration and information about fair redistricting reform.

Regular Vendor Lineup for Friday, August 18th / 3pm to 7pM

Please note that there will be no Market sales before 3pm. Thank you!
