Following the Parade:
Dancing in the Streets with Good Foot (until 9:30 pm)
The Mushroom Festival’s annual Community Parade jump starts Kennett Square’s fungi
celebration on Friday, Sept. 8 for 2017. The parade kicks-off from State and Willow at 6 pm. Our theme: Mushrooms on Parade!
The parade is a celebration of our community and the mushroom industry. All are invited to participate. The Festival invites local organizations to march as a group or enter a float. Bands — on floats or marching– are parade favorites. Antique cars, equestrian groups and businesses are encouraged to be a part of the parade.
We are continuing to make improvements in staging the parade. This year we will stage all
walking units from the Special Events Tent. Walking units will line up in order and move into the parade line at Willow Street.
Race Street will be one way (turn left on State Street — no entrance from Cypress Street). The right lane will be for dropping off parade participants. The left lane will allow traffic to move through.
All other units will stage at the Exelon Parking lot at the top of Miller’s Hill (near Route 1). We have a plan to get this organized a little better this year!
Your place in the parade and detailed staging directions will be emailed around Sept. 5.
All entries must be received by August 31.
Registration is online!
