2017 Mushroom Cap Half Marathon

Date/Time: 11/04/2017 at 7:30 am - 12:00 pm

The KSQ Mushroom Cap Half Marathon and Relay Event begin and end in the Kennett High School football stadium. The races feature an Olympic start and then take runners on a journey.  First through small town, spectator filled, borough streets onto the open road with nothing but miles of scenic, pastorals views. Runners will experience turn of the century barns, horse farms, rolling hills and breathtaking autumn foliage.

There is a 3:30 minute (16-minute mile) cutoff time for this race.  If you are not at the 9 mile marker by 9:55AM you will be asked to leave the course in the safety vehicle provided.  After this time aid stations will be closed, police will not be monitoring traffic, roads will be re-opened, making safe passage to the finish very difficult.  If you do not feel that you can maintain a 16-minute mile or less over the 13.1 mile course, for your safety, please consider a different event. Perhaps our Relay Event!

The KSQ Mushroom Cap Half Marathon is a rain or shine event. We hope and plan for sun but if the opposite holds true, we will run in rain, in wind and in snow. Only EXTREME weather conditions (i.e. hurricanes or blizzards) will close the event. Our goal is to start this event on time at 7:30AM and have every runner safely finished by 11:00AM.

“This race is an amazing combination of small town charm, beautiful scenery and extraordinary people, which makes it fun and rewarding for everyone who participates. A premier destination race right here in small town Kennett Square!”
